The Victoria University Students’ Administrative Council is Vic’s hub for student life!

With twenty-seven elected and appointed members, VUSAC’s goal is to improve the lives of all Victorians through the services we provide, our events, and our representation of the Victoria College student body.

We want to connect you with the people who share your interests. Want to join or start a new club? Looking to get involved in event planning? Want discounted tickets and printing, or just looking to explore the Vic community? We administer almost 40 clubs, throw pub nights and formals, and have services like five cent printing and a student study lounge.

Our job is to improve the Victoria student experience, while making sure that the needs of our student body are being addressed by U of T and Victoria admin and by your appointed student representatives.

Commissions

The Equity Commission is known for events like Doc 'n Talks, cultural celebrations, Art at the Intersections, and more! It's also known for its work advocating for Vic students. The Commission strives to make our school more equitable through projects such as de-gendering washrooms and providing equity training to student groups and leaders.

The Commuter Commission is more commonly known as VOCA (Victoria Off-Campus Association). VOCA runs some of Vic's favourite events - including free pancake brunches, commuter assassins, and the annual Home for the Holidays Banquet. They also work to make sure commuters have the skills and resources they need to be comfortable at Vic and successful in life.

The Sustainability Commission provides both programming and advocacy. They host Doc 'n Talks, Environmental Equity Week, and connect us with indigenous history through the Kairos blanket exercise. They also advocate for Vic to divest from fossil fuels and implement composting, among other things.

The Scarlet and Gold Commission is responsible for establishing diverse social programming for all students of Victoria College. Events put on by the Scarlet and Gold Commissioner include pub nights, galas, a semi-formal, Winterfest, and Vic's annual year end celebratory formal, Highball. Above all else, the Scarlet and Gold commission strives to establish and contribute to a lively and inclusive social culture here at Victoria College.

The Arts and Culture Commission is dedicated to providing exciting opportunities to enrich students artistically and culturally and explore Toronto. Smaller events include trips to the ROM, aquarium, street festivals, dance workshops, and more. The major events under the Arts and Culture Commissioner are The Bob Sketch Comedy Show, the Gardiner Gala, and the Vic Variety Show.

The Mental Wellness Commission works to bring events and conversations about mental wellness to Victoria College students. Some of these events include Make and Takes, DIY Self-Care Kits, Resource Fairs, and panels.

The Academic Commission strives to help Victoria College students succeed in their academic and professional lives. They do this by hosting workshops and information sessions for students about everything from summer opportunities to academic resources! In addition, they coordinate an annual Networking Dinner with Vic alumni and coordinate LSAT and MCAT practice tests. We also advocate for students who are not taken into consideration by university administration.
